Market Wrap for the Week Ending Apr 9, 2021

The stock market had a nice week with large caps starting to take the lead over small caps. You may recall that mid and especially small cap stocks have been rallying for several months.

Overall, the S&P 500 was up 2.75% for the week.

FIRE Portfolios - YTD Return

  • My FIRE mutual fund portfolio at Fidelity is up 14.15% YTD
  • My FIRE ETF portfolio at Schwab is up 14.57% YTD

My FIRE portfolios are still beating the market so far this year, however Mr. Market closed the gap some this past week. The market experienced a pretty good week while my sector funds sort of tracked sideways this week.

TSP Model - YTD Return

My Thrift Savings Plan (TSP) Model is up 10.66% YTD.

401k Model - YTD Return

  • My generic 401k Model is up 10.36% YTD.
  • My PPSF 401k Model is up 8.94% YTD.

Benchmark Stock Market Indices - YTD Return

  • The S&P 500 (Vanguard fund VFINX) is up 10.36% YTD
  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average (State Street ETF DIA) is up 10.97% YTD
